Over 20 homes had been consumed by the floods and that is when authorities decided upon major evacuation services to be emerged throughout the town.
Roads began to shut down and that hampered rescue services even furthered. September was known for its fair share of rainfall but this 2016 year’s September received more rainfall than usually expected.
It was all due to the cloud bands of the North West region that became active from the Dipole of the Indian Ocean. This impacted the rainfall to a maximum that year.
